Army & Navy Club London – Re-imagining the Gentleman’s Club
In response to a request from Mr. Stephen Simmons – an esteemed committee member of this wonderful club in the heart of London. A club that has thrived through over a century of armed conflict and international piece. Mr. Simmons set us an objective to review the Army & Navy Club and to advise on improvements to this classic institution.
My survey of this property focused on the following areas for this famous club
The Human capital and specifically the focus of management with recommendations for rationalization and improvement.
Better use of extensive F&B facilities and recommendations on how to better present these for a younger audience.
Renovation of existing hotel room product and recommendations for added comfort and value to members and guests.
Review of all back of house support areas, staff facilities and parking areas.
Overall the mission was completed to the satisfaction of the operating committee with a large array of recommendations for improvement of the club with the key drive being to improve membership numbers and usage of the Army & Navy Club which has its strong competitors amongst other services clubs in London.
We are happy to say that our advice as a consulting firm has helped them to redraw the Management team and at the time of writing I had a recent discussion with Mr. Simmons who sees the club as making great strides to regain a pre-eminent position amongst London Services Clubs.
This club incidentally has an inspiring Art Collection of British Military history – in itself a very good reason to keep this wonderful club in tip-top shape!
